In 10 African countries (Burundi, Senegal, Benin, Congo, Togo, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Chad and Niger), only one third of students complete the cycle primary school with sufficient reading and math skills. The majority of 6th grade students are not able to understand clear information as a series of written words let alone performing operations with decimal numbers.

The Canadian Act for Solidarity in Education (CASE) conduct advocacy for equal chances in education and implement programs in order to increase learning outcomes for students in Africa. Learn more.
